Volodymyr Lytvyn,
Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stresses that Ukraine has all the
Possibilities to organize the Closed Cycle of Nuclear Fuel Production to meet
the Demands of the Energy Industry
Having visited the museum of strategic missile
troops (Kirovohrad
region), V.Lytvyn stated that Ukraine
shall reasonably use its possibilities in the development of uranium deposits, securing
proper funding. He believes that "one shall understand importance of nuclear
power engineering and power engineering in general for the security of Ukraine".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine
deems necessary to settle the environmental problems connected with the
intensive use of the said resources. "The present-day principle is to settle
the problem, polluting the environment", - he stated.
V.Lytvyn supposes that 90% of environmental charges
shall remain in the local budgets to reclaim and enhance the environment, and
improve the health of people living in the high-danger area.
V.Lytvyn also called for establishing "regular
cooperation with the Russian
Federation, using intellectual, engineering
and scientific possibilities of both countries" as to the use of energy
resources.
